Names from Perlesvaus: Branches I-IX

The following is a collection of proper nouns from the first nine chapters (by the Evans organization) of "Perlesvaus, or the High Book of the Grail". I present them here for the use of any writers and/or GMs who are in need of some fun person or place names with a high-chivalry feel. (I have excluded the names that everyone already knows, like "Lancelot" -- if you wanted to name a character Lancelot, you already would have and wouldn't be coming to this list. I've also taken off knightly "names" that are just the color of their heraldry. (E.g. "Knight of the Red Shield" or "Red Knight".) If you want to employ that naming scheme, I would recommend this list instead for maximum fun.

In some cases, the two translations I have copies of (the 1898 Sebastian Evans version and the 1978 Nigel Bryant version) disagree on the proper rendering of a name for reasons I am sure would be more clear to me if I were capable of reading the original. For this reason, rather than a straightforward list, I am putting the names into tables with the Bryant version on the left and the Evans version on the right, allowing you to choose your favorite renderings.

I hope y'all can appreciate the extra effort that went into copy/pasting this cell by cell from my Google Sheets document thanks to Wix's "all form no function" design philosophy. It makes me miss the Geocities of my youth -- but that's why it's probably for the best that Zoe does the website so you get something that looks sleek instead of hand-coded minimalist HTML.
